You post your orders yourself, with the carrier you already use. A delivery profile tells us where you post from, where you post to, and what buyers pay. You make it once and use it on as many listings as you like.
Where to find it
Go to Shop Manager › Shipping. This page lists your delivery profiles. Press + Add a delivery profile to make a new one, or Edit to change one. If you filled in How will you post it? on your first listing, you already have a profile for buyers in your own country.
Fill in the profile
- Give it a Profile name, such as “Small parcels”.
- Choose the Country items are dispatched from and enter the Origin postal code: where your orders leave from, such as your home or the post office.
- Under Standard delivery, choose a Destination (for example United Kingdom, Europe, United States or Everywhere else, or Specific countries…), a Delivery service, and What you'll charge for One item and each Additional item. Enter 0 for free delivery.
- Press + Add another destination for each other place you post to.
- Press Create profile.
Buyers can only order from the places in your profile. If a country is in two destinations, the smaller one is used: Ireland before Europe, for example.
How one-item and additional-item prices work
In one order, the buyer pays the highest one-item price once, then the additional-item price for every other item from your shop, including more of the same item. Say you charge £3.50 for one item and £1.00 for each additional item. A buyer who orders three things pays £3.50 + £1.00 + £1.00 = £5.50 postage.
Offer faster or tracked postage
Under each destination, Other postage options (optional) lets buyers choose a faster or tracked service at checkout, such as Royal Mail Tracked 48 or 1st Class. Press + Add a postage option, choose the service and enter the whole postage price for it, not just the extra on top.
Use it on your listings
Open a physical listing and choose the profile in Delivery profile, under Pricing and delivery. Each listing also has its own Preparation time: the working days you need before you post it. Buyers see an estimate of when it could reach them: your preparation time, then the delivery time of the service.
Free delivery when buyers spend more
To encourage bigger orders, go to Shop Manager › Discounts and set up a Free delivery offer. Buyers whose items from your shop come to that amount or more pay no postage. You pay for posting those orders.
Collection in person (optional)
You can let buyers collect for free instead: Shop Manager › Shipping › Collection in person. It's off unless you turn it on, and we recommend posting instead, because we can't check who buyers are or be there when you meet.
- Before paying, buyers only see your area. After paying, they get your collection address, a QR code and a 6-digit code.
- The item is ready after the listing's preparation time, and the buyer then has 7 days to collect it.
- Hand it over only when the buyer shows their code, and confirm it on the order straight away.
- Meet somewhere busy and public, and never take cash or any other payment: the order is already paid.
Royal Mail Click & Drop
If you buy your postage in Royal Mail Click & Drop, you can connect it: Shop Manager › Shipping › Royal Mail Click & Drop. You copy a key from Click & Drop (Settings, then Integrations, then Click & Drop API), paste it in and press Connect. The page walks you through it.
After that, every paid order with something to post appears in your Click & Drop, with the buyer's name and address filled in. You buy and print the label there as usual, entering the weight and parcel size. Its tracking number then shows on the order here.
When you've posted it
Open the order in Shop Manager › Orders and fill in Complete order: the Dispatch date, Carrier and Tracking number. The buyer gets an email with the tracking link and an estimated arrival date. We don't sell postage labels: you buy them from your carrier, as you do now.
